All contributors to Heartland Music Magazine participate voluntarily, driven purely by their passion for music, photography, and writing.

Heartland Music Magazine was founded in December 2022 as a labor of love by Jessica Fredette. After enduring years of ableism and discrimination from existing local publications, Jessica resolved to stop pleading for recognition of her talent and potential. Instead, she took the initiative to create and manage her own magazine. This endeavor not only allows her to showcase her abilities but also provides a platform for other talented yet overlooked photographers and writers, offering them opportunities to develop their skills and pursue their aspirations.
